1 Sustaining

You can’t get more sustaining than the Bernstein’s Deli’s matriarch Marla’s made-from-scratch Chicken Matzo Ball Soup.

Go for another classic with Chicken Noodle Soup with house-made noodles at The Tallest Poppy, owner/operator Talia Syrie’s cozy space in the Sherbrook Inn.

2 Spicy

You can’t beat the heat, but you can control it in Thida’s Thai Restaurant’s Kaeng Phet (red) and Kaeng Kiew Waan (green) curry soups in coconut milk broth. Dishes at Thida’s can be customized on a spicy scale from 1 to 10.

Come in aprè-skate at The Forks to warm up with Fusian Sushi’s Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.

3 Sumptuous

Classic French Onion Soup from Café Ce Soir is made with caramelized onions in beef broth, with bread, port and Gruyère cheese.

InFerno’s Bistro’s Le Bisque Grand Duc is built on a base of finely diced vegetables cooked in butter, amped up with crab, and Madeira wine and ultimately crowned in puff pastry.

4 Slurpable

5 Salubrious (that means healthy!)

Siam Thai’s vegetarian Tofu Soup is a simple and restorative soup selection of tofu cubes simmered in vegetable stock and garnished with green onions and coriander.
