Make Like a Tourist

When you need a weekend away, but don’t want to buy a plane ticket, a city stay fits like a fresh sheet on a perfectly made bed.

2 Breakfast Inside

Room service! It’s the hallmark of indulgence for any hotel stay, however, you can always do as Hobbits do with a Second Breakfast, too. One of our favourites is the shakshuka at Bernstein’s Deli.

Breakfast Outside

If you were lucky enough to score tickets to the sold-out RAW:almond 2019 brunch on the river with Chef Ben Kramer and Talia Syrie of The Tallest Poppy, even better! The rest of us will have to set a reminder in our 2020 calendars.

3 Balance Inside

Take in a Hot Yin yoga class at Yoga Public, where passive postures are held for longer periods of time in a 38C infrared hot room to intensify the stretch, while meditation is used to help you relax into your pose.

Balance Outside

Try Ice Yoga February 16 at FortWhyte Alive on a frozen lake at the outdoor nature centre, led by Ash Bourgeois of WildPath.

4 Bloom Inside

Toucan Ridge at the Assiniboine Park Zoo has plants and animals from South and Central America. Birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles plus hibiscus, banana, bougainvillea, oh my! Your visit to the zoo also wouldn’t be complete without a stop in the underwater viewing tunnels to see polar bears swim overhead.

Bloom Outside

The prairie has deep roots. Snowshoe over the slumbering blooms at the Living Prairie Museum with free family snowshoeing on the first and last Sunday of the month, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
