City Bread’s beginnings date back to 1948. Today the bakery is owned by Harvey Goldman. His father, the late Max Goldman bought the business in the 1970s from the Perlmutter family.

There is one on the counter at the Acorn Café. His name is Nutz, he’s stuffed, and as the unofficial mascot of the café in Generation Green he’s a reminder of the coffee and lunch spot’s origins.

Erin May Kembel is the EMK behind EMK Clothing, known for her Canadian-made seasonal collections andessentials available at retailers across the country, online and at her West Broadway studio boutique on Sherbrook Street. In late 2019 EMK released a men’s collection after years of requests.
