Hope Mallett is in it for the long run. The owner of the Green & Grain has persevered in a business where many stumble.

Bunches of people have fallen in love with Le Monkey Bar’s treats, from their chocolate-dipped bananas to fruit smoothies, popsicles, shakes and sundaes.

Bernstein’s Deli has been a south end fixture for more than 30 years. Regulars come for a deli lunch, great take out in the grocery section (they are more than 30 kinds of soup in the freezer!) or a morning cup of coffee and meet up with friends.

Dr. Hajra Mirza opened the Rossmere Pharmacy in North Kildonan in 2005. “Fate brought me here,” she says.

Since Melanie Bernadsky of Freshcut Downtown taught her first Beer and Botany class in 2015, the concept has really taken root.
