In the two years since opening Next Level Escapes with his wife and co-owner, Meghan Pesclovitch, Daniel Gravenor has taken a generic storefront in a suburban strip mall and created a place where problem-solving and imagination take hold.

Through a picture window at the front of Beyond Flowers on Corydon Avenue, passersby see buckets and buckets of fresh flowers.

Obby Khan knew he had a strong personal brand after a long career in the Canadian Football league. “I was well-known. Eight and half of 10 people liked me,” he joked. “I have a recognizable face.”

So what does it mean to be vegan? No meat, no poultry, no fish, no dairy, no eggs, no honey. But a huge world of plant-based goodness and flavour awaits.
