When the facade of the Scott Block, a century-old office building at 272 Main Street, was uncovered a few years ago, Bryan Goertz envisioned something spectacular in that space.

Before moving to The Good Will Social Club at 625 Portage Ave. in January, Randy Khounnoraj and Korene McCaig operated Khao House, a 10-seat restaurant they opened in their West Broadway home in 2016.

Since Melanie Bernadsky of Freshcut Downtown taught her first Beer and Botany class in 2015, the concept has really taken root.

Open for 15 years, Riverstone Spa loves being a local destination. “I find Manitobans like to support local businesses,” says Alicia Brown, the spa manager.

Monday to Friday, Nick’s on Broadway serves sandwiches, soups, and salads to the downtown office lunch crowd. We talked with Chef/Owner Nick Graumann.
